A white wedding....

Like so many ladies in the UK, women in Mozambique also dream of a white wedding and being made a fuss of for a day. So when we had our Christian training college, at graduation, every family was invited to ' have a white wedding'. Most of them were already married in a traditional ceremony but could have afforded a wedding like this.

So over the years, the community has collected donated wedding dresses so every woman could have their own white wedding.

It has grown so much, that now there are bridesmaid dresses, matrons of honour dresses, flower girls and of course posh suits for the men. Don't mistake their sad faces for fear of being jilted ;-) - custom in Mozambique is that a wedding is a serious occasion and so no smiling. But the excitment before every wedding is immense, especially the part when they choose the dress...
