Rebuild after the fire

in September 2006, a huge freak bush fire swept across Vila Maninga destroying the orphans homes and some of our elderly homes.

Thankfully no-one was hurt due to the quick actions of lots of adults and older children grabbing the younger children out of harms way. But it was heart-breaking for these children to see everything ruined and there was nothing they could do about it.

Through lots of hard work and fundraising efforts, the rebuild began that next year and everyone was delighted with their new homes, beds and even mirrors and hairbrushes for the children. :-)
