Christian Training

Vila Maninga Christian Training began in 1996 as a residential college two year course. It took in students from remote rural areas all over Mozambique who, along with their wives and families, came to stay at the project for the whole two years. They trained to be Pastors but alongside this, they and their wives learnt a huge variety of skills from literacy, farming and vocational skills such as sewing and even healthcare and first aid. Their children would go to the VM Primary School and They returned to their local areas to set up churches or work communities, working not only as Pastors but also sharing their other skills too.

Over the last few years, our Christian training programme at Vila Maninga has changed. Now the programme receives 100-150 Pastors and church elders at Vila Maninga, from various parts of Mozambique, three times a year, for a week long conference where they are taught, equipped, refreshed and renewed. These Pastors are then required to go and train another 10 people in their churches and communities and so their skills and knowledge is passed on.
